Guruji BKS Iyengar
December 14th 1918 – August 20th 2014
Yogacharya BKS Iyengar merged with the cosmic breath 3:15 am August 20th. He was briefly hospitalized for just under one week and remained alert and surrounded by family until his last breath.
When I saw him this past February and March he was as sharp as a whip and still roared like a lion. Guruji is famous for his many quotable remarks as well as his unprecedented gift of revitalizing and revolutionizing yoga.
A poignant quote follows…
“It is my profound hope that my end can be your beginning” -BKS Iyengar
